I was in your workshop five years ago and really enjoyed it. "Five years ago, I had the pleasure of taking Multicentricism. I thought this was going to be just another diversity class where I was a mandated participant. To my surprise, this class was different. It was enlightening and challenged my thought processes regarding diversity, race, and culture. This class offered a paradigm in thinking and further, actual action on the issues discussed.

The purpose for taking this course is because I have a lot of ideas and knowledge that keep piling up and I know that my ideas and skills are worth something, but I’m not sure where they all need to go. This is one reason why I came to Ms. Shannon, is because she has the talent to help me organize my thoughts and skills and to have this documented as skills and ability to move forward.

Attending this camp were nineteen students from eight different countries: China, Mexico, Korea, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. Dr. Shannon was a guest speaker. She was a captivating speaker telling the students about her background as a multicentric person and how this fact helped her to develop her character and personality. She kept the students interested with an activity that was a constant during her lesson. At the end of her lesson, she had students and teachers do an activity to think about their own personalities and how to show that personality on paper as an art expression to practice talking in English. I know I enjoyed listening and participating.”
